Having watched and been involved, as a retailer in the 70’s and early 80’s, with Apple and Steve Jobs since the Apple IIe I originally thought that Jobs was a cocky kid. But since his return to Apple he proved that he was a true genius at a level that does not happen even every generation. He had the gift of knowing what we wanted before we knew it and that is magical.
Loren,
My question is… Why bother buying a desktop computer?
Below are a few suggestions.
I personally would not buy a external optical drive. For instance, I have downloaded large Adobe programs without using the CD disk on all my Mac’s for years…
Large programs such as Photo Shop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, InDesign and Lightroom.
So software without the optical drive should not be an issue with your new Air.
Low cost App’s are now and the future…
The new young designers of Apple App’s are very innovative.
In a short time they have became the a’vant-grade of software building.
If you need more screen the Air will connect to any inexpensive larger screen.
If you need more storage the Mac Cloud will provide but you seem to have ample storage.
Congratulations and welcome friendly World of Mac.
